Intro: The Allure

It is a typical fantasy to drop the grinding routine and venture away at will. Daydreaming over romantic travel destinations was a regular pastime for me as a child and young adult. The more I daydreamed, the more I developed an appetite to physically experience the landscapes, wildlife, and cultures of the world. Everything from spontaneous weekend road trips to planned overseas vacations ignites my passions in a way that my younger self would have never imagined possible.

Personally, the allure of travel has always been

about challenging my learning, growth, and senses. Traveling allows a continual broadening of perspective, which results in a greater appreciation for this planet and a wider capacity to understand the mindset of other human beings. Long-term contentment is my enemy, and breaking away from extended comfort ensures I never stop goal-setting in all arenas of life.

Why am I starting a blog like millions of others? In summary, I miss writing for pleasure and have been stricken by a surge of creative energy during this cold and snowy winter in Durango. Furthermore, I have toyed with the idea of professionally helping others plan their dream adventures, particularly in the niche of budget-friendly, nature-based road trips. Hopefully, this blog will:

  • Act as a gauge of interest in such services

  • Sharpen my writing skills

  • Extend my network of like-minded individuals

  • Encourage and inspire someone who longs to explore but feels constrained by time or finances

Subscribe or check back soon for insight into my first independently-planned adventure: a 9-day camping road trip from Denver to Canada. This one was on a SERIOUS budget and was certainly all about the journey.

Why is traveling important to you?

Do you enjoy travel planning, or does it stress you out?

Give me your feedback in the comments below!

My heart is happy you read this far. Peace out for now.
