SOUTHWEST
Within this sphere, my home, I unveiled another realm How could it be? This corner was there All along In its pristine, diverse glory Sheltered in natural, creative design
Equipped with leisurely life Halted time Monumental scenes Worthy of fame And hoards of public But in this moment It is pure And it is ours
THE ROCKIES ALWAYS CALL ME
Away we go Such delight for the new Dazzling our senses With culture Breathtaking visions And heart-racing activities A drug to be sure One might think it a drag To resume daily life To start the cycle again
Oh, no
We are luckiest Most grateful To call our favorite place Home FOURTEEN THOUSAND An ungodly hour A ghostly drive 'Til on foot Uphill almost immediately Burning and forcing muscles to push Lungs to expand Brain to stay grounded Continued false hopes Delirious euphoria The feeling of too many rests Until finally reaching An infinite sea of peaks
Above the clouds Standing strong with the elements Body is light and numb Waving to secret lakes Tracing boldly cut valleys with my eyes Imagining I traverse commanding ridges that connect On, and on, and on This pinnacle fills my heart to explosion
I hope you enjoyed this collection of photos as much as I relished in reviewing them! The poetry poured forth as I reflected. It is never a dull moment here, as there is always something fresh and soul-quenching to uncover.
